Borders 2001 is an international art project organised for the second year running in Slavonski Brod. The curator was Darko Šimicic from the Institute for Contemporary Art, Zagreb. The exhibition, video projections, round table discussion and workshops took place from 17 September to 20 October 2001. Twenty-three artists from Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic participated. Galerija Balen supported the project and hosted the Hungarian artists Gyula Várnai and Balazs Beötthy.
